How to Book a Private Yacht or Boat Online with YachtDay
Learn how to book a private boat on YachtDay step by step. Choose your date, duration, guests and route on the boat page, then pay by card or Apple Pay or send a request for availability first. Find out how deposits work, what happens after booking, and how cancellations, weather changes and discount codes are handled.

To book a private boat on YachtDay, pick the date, duration, guests and route on the boat page, enter your contact details, then either pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or send a request and we confirm availability first.
What do you choose on the boat page?
Everything that changes the price is set on the boat page, before you reach the booking form. You pick the date, the duration, usually a half day of four hours or a full day of eight, and the number of guests. The price updates as you go, so you can compare a half day with a full day on the same boat before deciding. Our guide to half day or full day helps if you are unsure.
Next come the destinations. Each boat lists the islands it can reach for the duration you chose, and some of them carry an extra fee that appears in the price as soon as you select them. Optional add-ons work the same way. Some boats also let you add extra hours to a half day. Before you compare boats on price, check what each one includes and what it does not, as explained in what a yacht charter price includes.
What do you fill in on the booking page?
The booking page asks for your full name in Latin letters, an email address and a phone number. Use a number that has WhatsApp, because messages about the booking go there as well as to your email. There is a field for special requests, such as dietary needs or a celebration on board, and a place for a discount code if you have one.
The same page shows the full price breakdown: the base price, any extra guests, extra hours, destination fees and add-ons, and the total. Prices are set in the currency of the country where the boat sails. You can switch the display to another currency for convenience, and the booking page states which currency the total is in.
Should you pay by card or send a request?
There are two ways to finish a booking. The right one depends on whether your plan is settled or you still have questions.
Pay by card | Send a request | |
|---|---|---|
How you pay | Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on a secure payment page run by Stripe | Nothing now. Payment instructions come after confirmation |
What happens next | The boat is booked as soon as the payment goes through | We check availability with the operator and contact you within 24 hours |
Confirmation | Booking details and a PDF voucher by email, a payment receipt in WhatsApp | Arrives with the payment instructions |
Best when | The date, route and group are decided | You want to adjust the route, ask about the boat or plan something special |
YachtDay never sees or stores your card details: the card form belongs to Stripe, and you are redirected to it after pressing the button on the booking page.
Do you pay the full price or a deposit?
It depends on the boat. Some ask for the full price in advance. Others take a deposit, a percentage of the total, and you pay the rest directly to the charter company on the day of departure. The booking page shows which applies before you pay, with the amount due now and the amount left for the day of the trip on separate lines.
A deposit makes the booking easier on your card, but the remaining balance is still part of the price. Keep it in mind when you compare a boat with a deposit against one that asks for everything upfront: compare the totals, not the amounts due today.
What happens after you book?
Once a card payment goes through, the booking is confirmed and the page tells you so. Booking details and a PDF voucher arrive by email, and a payment receipt with the trip date and amount paid arrives in WhatsApp. The booking is saved in a YachtDay account under your email address. If it is your first booking, the password for that account is sent to the same email.
Questions about the day itself, such as the meeting point, the route or the weather, go to the same WhatsApp chat. You can browse available boats for your dates among the boats in Phuket, or open your region from the catalog.
FAQ
Which payment methods can I use on YachtDay?
You can pay by credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on a secure payment page run by Stripe. If you prefer not to pay online straight away, choose the request option instead: nothing is charged, we confirm availability with the operator and then send you payment instructions.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my trip?
Safety comes first. If the captain or the charter company decides that sea conditions are unsafe, you are offered a new date, or a full refund if rescheduling is not possible. Check the forecast on the weather page in the days before your trip so a change of plan does not come as a surprise.
Can I cancel my booking and get a refund?
Yes, but the refund depends on how far in advance you cancel and on the terms of the charter company. The cancellation terms for your boat are listed on the booking page before you pay, so read them there rather than relying on general rules. To cancel, write to us in the WhatsApp chat with your booking reference.
What if someone else books the same date at the same moment?
It can happen on a popular date. If another guest confirms the same boat a moment before your payment goes through, your payment is refunded in full automatically. The refund usually reaches your card within 5 to 10 business days, and you can pick another boat or date straight away.
Do I need to create an account before booking?
No. You only enter your name, email and phone number on the booking page. YachtDay saves the booking in an account under that email automatically. If it is your first booking, the password is sent to the same address, so you can later sign in to see the booking and its details.
Can I use a discount code?
Yes. Enter it in the discount code field on the booking page and the discount appears in the price breakdown before you pay. Note that a discount code does not apply to additional services or to extra destination fees, only to the price of the boat itself.
Can I ask questions before I book?
Yes. Every boat page and the booking page have a WhatsApp button. Send your date, the number of guests and your question, and you get an answer before you commit. If your plan needs changes the booking form cannot cover, the request option lets the operator confirm the details first.
